Bird Flu H5N1 Virus

Avian influenza virus subtypes of influenza A. More there are several subtypes H5 and H7 virus ‘flu’ which causes bird flu among birds. Wild birds are considered the reservoir of avian influenza viruses for centuries. Migratory birds carry pathogens from one place to another and, in turn infect the local population of birds causing mass casualties.

Until 1997, the virus has been limited to species of trees and pigs. Never infected humans. Although it was a known fact that the bird flu virus could mutate into different types, but this was the first time the virus has adapted to be strong enough to attack mammals, including humans and dogs. The avian influenza virus has been identified as the H5N1 virus, a virus of the H5 subtype.

The full name of this virus of avian influenza A (H5N1) virus (highly pathogenic avian influenza). The current form of bird flu virus is rapidly mutating virus and highly pathogenic strains in the form of the previous date. The viruses are present in the respiratory tract of many species of birds. Therefore, the spread of the virus anywhere in the world is inevitable. Most are transported by migratory birds.

The H5N1 virus has mutated into a form that can infect humans and other mammals, and the impact could be fatal enough to kill the hosts. Studies show that continually evolve through antigenic drift. Humans become infected by direct contact with infected birds or bird flu patients. Infected birds spread the virus into the environment through their nasal secretions, saliva, feces, and drops of blood. The virus moves in the human body through the nasal cavity or the lining of the eyes. Scientists working on avian flu are of the opinion that the consequence of the combination of this virus with human influenza virus H5N1 can be so complicated that the first would end up with millions of lives.
